L-Citrulline is an amino acid which is readily converted into L-arginine in the kidneys and has been found to play an important role in nitric oxide (NO) metabolism. Citrulline malate is found in a 2:1 ratio of citrulline to the organic salt, malate. Malate is added to L-citrulline to give stability in the body as well as having some fatigue-fighting properties of its own.
By increasing the production of NO, Citrulline Malate can act as a regulator to promote vascular dilation which in turn, helps support normal oxygen and blood circulation throughout the body. This enhanced blood flow can help to aid recovery, reduce fatigue and improve overall performance*.
To enhance physical performance, we recommend taking 2-4g of citrulline malate an hour before exercise. Citrulline Malate is particularly beneficial for high-intensity sports such as sprinting or weight lifting.

I purchased the unflavored to limit the other ingredients. It mixes well but tastes really sour and gives me heartburn. The closer I take to working out the greater the heartburn. I take 6g about 30 minutes pre workout for the benefits cited in the product overview. It's always hard to quantify how much these products help in the short term, but I've noticed that by stacking this with the other products below, I'm able to have longer training sessions with improved recovery. What I did notice about this product compared to others on different sites was the 2:1 ratio of citrulline to malate, which is superior to something closer to 1:1.
