Too Much Iron!

First, I have to say I have NOT tried this yet (and will not) because of the very high iron content. This is especially problematic for males, as excessive iron levels can lead to cardiovascular problems.

Don’t drink this.

I can’t have whey so I thought I’d try this. I use another brand and I’m happy with it but I’m always up to see what’s out there. This tasted terrible, didn’t blend well (I always use a blender) and seemed to be unbearably thick no matter how much liquid I added.

Glad I Ordered the Sample First

In an effort to cut lactose from my diet, I switched from whey concentrate to whey isolate, then began to look into plant-based options. My first experience was quite positive, but my second experience--MyProtein's powder--was not. I understand that plant-based powder is generally harder to mix and is more likely to be gritty. These features don't matter to me because I use a blender and I add in a cup of oats that change the texture anyway. If it matters to you, however, do note that this powder is difficult to mix, at least with almond milk. The main reason for my bad experience is the taste. Though described as mocha, it came across more as bitter cardboard with a hint of chocolate. It failed not only to live up to the expectation of the listed flavor, but also to taste good in general. Adding Swerve and then a good deal of peanut butter made it more drinkable, but I would dread having to work my way through a jar of this powder over the course of a month. I give this powder a 2.5, rounded up to 3, out of 5.

BLEND IT

What people need to realize before purchasing plant based proteins is that they don’t mix the same way as dairy based protein (whey). You can’t usually just put it in a shaker bottle and mix by hand. I always put mine in a blender and the result is fantastic. You can use just water but it’s much better with non dairy milk. Soy, almond, oat. Whatever you prefer. Just keep in mind you gotta blend it for ideal results.

Definitively best Plant Based Protein!

Compared to the normal plant protein offered on MYPROTEIN & the only other one I've used (Redcon's Green Beret plant protein), this is hands down the absolute best one in terms of texture, mixability, & flavor. I've only had mocha so far through the sample packet & the taste is so good! Reminds me of a mocha cookie! Compared to other plant based, the texture/thickness is nearly just like whey though it tends to build up at the bottom but a quick shake fixes that quickly so it really is not an issue. I wish MYPROTEIN would keep the bulk containers of this stuff in-stock.. it's great for those who are lactose (I cannot process whey well). I'm now just punishing myself with their vanilla plant protein in agony as I wait for The Plant Protein (mocha or other flavors?) to restock..

Having tried a lot of different vegan protein powders from different places, in my opinion, this is the best. Most vegan powders taste worse than dairy-based competitors, are more expensive and often have a chalky texture. This one has all the nutrition I'm looking for, including 25g protein and 4g BCAAs, plus tastes pretty good and mixes just fine with a shaker or a blender. My only complaint would be that it appears to be out of stock reasonably often and only available in a smaller 2lb tub.

The mocha flavor goes fine mixed with almond milk plus frozen fruit.

disgusting

This was the first and last time I will ever buy this product. It didn't mix well and was hard to go down because of the texture. It tasted ok though. I was trying to move to a more plant based protein but this is not it 🤢.

Plant Protein

This is the first plant protein I've tried! It tastes really good. It caused a bit of gastric distress, but after I did 1/2 a scoop it was ok!
