Beta-alanine is a modified version of the amino acid alanine and is the building block of carnosine, a molecule that acts as a buffering agent in muscles. It is combined with L-histidine in skeletal muscle cells to form the dipeptide of Beta-alanyl L-histidine, more commonly known as carnosine. Together this provides a buffering effect which reduces the acidity of the muscle and therefore helping to maintain performance and reduce fatigue*.
This is of particular reference for high-intensity exercise performance due to the nature of the muscles acidity. In particular, Beta-alanine has been shown to enhance muscular endurance as well as improve moderate to high intensity exercise performance such as sprinting or weightlifting.
Standard daily doses of beta-alanine are between 2,000 and 5,000mg. Beta-alanine supplementation is not timing-dependent, in relation to exercise. Using beta-alanine as part of a pre-workout stack is a popular option. However, large doses of beta-alanine may result in a tingling feeling called paresthesia. It is a harmless side effect, but can be avoided by using a time-release formulation or taking smaller doses, between 800-1000mg, several times a day.

Been ordering this from here often, best price out there. Helps gym performance without a doubt especially on a cut
It's hard to rate this product as I mix it with my Protein Shake along with Creatine and BCAA's soil I can not rate the taste. I continue to make gains so it works.Goes Well With:Protein shakes, Creatine, and BCAA's.
It is really hard to review this product as I put it in my Protein shake along with Creatine. I can't rare the taste as I take it with other supplements. I am not crazy about your packaging not do you supply a proper sized scoop with this product. It seems to be effective as I continue to make gains.Goes Well With:Creatine and Protein Powder
As a cyclist, hours spent in the saddle soon become a note in the memory book. You start to learn how performance "feels," what your muscles are doing on and on, in other words, you get to know your body responses very well. After taking Beta-Alanine the first few days I began to think it wasn't worth my time. Then, after a week went by I started noticing an endurance value showing up when higher power was used. Even more time went by and now I believe the high end endurance training has been more beneficial. Not to say better endurance but in training sessions, very high power intervals seem to be more sustainable thereby giving more gain overall for the training secession.
DONT BELIEVE DELIVER ESTIMATE TIMES!!! IT HAS ALREADY TAKEN 3 TIMES LONGER THEN SITE ESTIMATE AND STILL NO PACKAGE. A BUNCH OF LIARS THERE. I LIVE 1 HOURS FROM THEIR DISTRIBUTION CENTER THERE IS NO EXCUSES. IF YOU NEED WITHIN 2 WEEKS SHOP ELSEWHERE. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!
Not the cheapest, but along with creatine this powder is very effective to boost workout performance. The tingles I get on my lips and ears and hands let me know I feeling the dose.Goes Well With:el agua, BCAA's, creatine, some kind of sweetener/flavoring
Great product. I tried my brothers for about a month and my results blew my mind. The fact that its modified scared me at first but I don't think too much of it now. I'm buying 3 packs of itGoes Well With:Anything, I use water and my mio water flavour
Hi there,,,need recommendation for a vanilla and a chocolate flavor..I see vanilla and natural vanilla and a few chocolates.my preference was for classic vanilla and decadent chocolate fudge which they promptly discontinued..then I got used to Vanilla ice cream which they [of course] promptly discontinued--given I will be buying 11 to 22 lbs I would prefer to like it..suggestions..Chocolate coconut is not that great and has a funny metallic taste imo..want just choc + vanilla + like it -- sounds simple but it is not..thanks
This is a great product! I have been using this instead of a pre workout and it works! taking this 3 weeks and I am a lot less fatigued during workouts and can go longer. All of my lifts have gone up 2 reps so far! Goes Well With:Mixes great as a stack with creatine and BCAAs
I love using beta alanine mixed with a vasodilator (e.g. agmatine) as my pre-workout when I don't want to take a caffeinated pre. I used to take ProLab's and have also tried NOW's brand. I can definitely say the MP's isn't NEARLY as strong, possibly because it's not true CarnoSyn? If you want beta alanine for the reason I do (i.e. the tingles), I'd recommend you pitch out a little more money and get the pure CarnoSyn beta alanine. I'll still use the MP one up, since I paid for it, but I'm not exactly the happiest with this and wouldn't repurchaseGoes Well With:vasodilators
I use this to make my own pre-workout. This is more effective, in my opinion, than buying a pre-mixed product. This beta-alanine mixes well and definitely helps get me pumped prior to a lifting session. I recommend using the Flavdrops to add a more palatable flavor. This stuff doesn't taste as bad as unflavored BCAAs but it's still not pleasant. Adding the Flavdrops masks the flavor and makes drinking my homemade pre-workout enjoyable rather than something I just need to pound down prior to my workout.Goes Well With:Flavdrops Caffeine BCAAs Citrulline Malate
Never thought the beta allanin ebuzz/tingling was true until i tried this product! Take minimuk two scoops highly recomend
MP Beta-Alanine is great! The flavor is a bit sour and if you take more than 1 g at once, you can feel the tingles, but I don't care; it's a sign that it's working.
Add this to a pre workout for that clinically effective dose.Goes Well With:any prework out and has been shown well to pair with creatine.
I thought it would leave a weird taste in my mouth because of it's smell, but you don't notice it anything you mix it with. Definitely notice a difference in my workouts with and without it. Worth it.Goes Well With:Anything
This is an excellent product to use to enhance your strength and performance in the gym. The tingles are not has strong when added to other supplements(my opinion). If you want a kick a$$ workout use Beta-Alanine from MP.Goes Well With:Do your research certain supplements fight for absorption in the body
Don't think twice about ordering it. I bought the unflavored version and I have 0 complaints so far. Exactly what I was looking for! I have noticed a definite difference in my cardio and crossfit workouts. Be wary of the amount you use if you don't like the "tingling" parathesia sensation. The first time I tried it I used a full scoop with the provided utensil and I was uncomfortable. I find that 1/3-1/2 scoop preworkout with the other supplements I take is perfect. I would recommend ordering Taurine along with this and taking it at a separate time spaced apart from the beta alanine due to body cells tending to dump tyrosine when taking in more alanine.Goes Well With:water
I use this as a part of my pre-workout, and from what I can tell, it does what it's supposed to. I'm able to maintain performance throughout the workout, and recovery seems to be improved. I prefer to take 3g all at once before hitting the gym just because the tingles help get me in the mood to lift. Can't beat the price when you compare to underdosed pre-workouts. Goes Well With:citrulline malate, creatine, caffeine
As I said in a previous review, in all my years of stacking and using supplements, I have refrained from reviewing them. But I'm happy to review MyProtein products. You'll not find a better value. I've tried. My preworkout supplements contain lower dosages of beta alanine per serving than I prefer to use. Like many of you, I'd read the cautions against buying a beta alanine supplement that isn't marked CarnoSyn (the trademark name given by the patent holder), as you may be buying l-alanine or something else altogether. I don't think that's the case with MyProtein's product. Based upon my review of available research, l-alanine just doesn't produce the tingle or itch (paresthesia) of beta alanine. And I definitely feel the tingle when I use MyProtein's beta alanine. As for the flavor, I have no idea, and who cares? I always stack it with other supplements, and it's not as though I sip my preworkout cocktail. I'm pleased with this product, and I'll continue to use it in the future. Goes Well With:creatine monohydrate, pre workout supplements, l-arginine, etc.
great energy before my hard workouts. more energy in between sets.Goes Well With:cittrulline malate. creatine monohydrate
