Taste Fine, mixes poorly

I have been using this for the past month and I wish i paid more money for musclemeds. For best prices, with the frequent coupons, this is one of the best prices. For on the go protein powder, you get a lot of clumps. This does not dissolve very well, so prepare to eat some chocolate stickiness. Flavor taste great though.

Doesnt mix well

I love the taste but I had many clumps. It seems to be best for making pancakes. The mix was too thick for my taste and had too much protein that didn't want to mix in my shaker bottle.

Tough to Get Use To

I got the chocolate and unflavored thinking I would mix it with other drinks and liquids. Mixing is horrible as it clumps and sticks the lid, walls, and mixing ball . Had to use hot tap water and extra water than other protein mixes such as the whey. DO NOT use boiled water... my mixing bottle exploded with all the extra heat and steam and the protein went everywhere. Taste - the chocolate was fine, but slightly on the lighter side since I had to use extra water. The unflavored had a horrible smell of like burnt hair or burnt skin... if you ever had burned animal hide/skin on the BBQ... that's how it smelled, so i am sure it messed with the taste. I thought maybe I could use some hot coffee to help the mixing and taste... it made it worst. The ratio of fat, cholesterol, and sodium (Zero if i recall correctly) is what drew me, but not worth the hassle in my opinion. If somehow it would be mixed easier I would advise to stick with a flavored one. I accidentally discovered it mix well with half this CarniPro and Whey. I was using the Chocolate Whey Impact to supplement the unflavored CarniPro as I did not want it to go to waste and just throw it out cause of the smell and taste was so off-putting... somehow the whey helped it mix... go figure.

Mehhhh

So for starters the smell is bad, it sticks to everything and it's a nightmare to mix, HOWEVER, I figured out a few things that can help some others. 1) It mixes much more easily when you try to dissolve it in soup, given that it's flavourless beef protein it actually goes surprisingly well in soup, heat in a saucepan, mix occasionally until dissolved, using a wooden spoon to flatten the chunks against the inner sides helps it dissolve faster. 2) Mixing in a blender works best but it works even better if you have one where the lid has a little hole at the top for adding things in while you mixing, as your blender is running(preferably in short bursts) just pour it into what it is your mixing it with and it will ensure that it will mix instead of just sticking to the inside... I'd even recommend making your omelettes this way but faire warning it will have a weird texture once cooked. 3) Mixing the powder with other types of protein powder does make it a little easier to work with That being said, it is high quality but it's really not easy to work with
Goes Well With:
-Soup -Eggs -More chocolatey and savoury flavours(banana is also good with this)

Unflavored = Gravy

First of all, I love MyProtein. The value, the quality, the variety, is all amazing! I first tried a beef protein around 5 years ago. It was a different brand, fruit punch flavored and was horrible. I decided that technology has changed enough to give it another shot. I got the unflavored version. First of all, it doesn't mix well. If you double the amount of water that you use with whey, it's still not enough. Secondly, it stinks. It reeks of old, rotting beef. I used water for my first drink so that I could judge it's true flavor. Honestly, I could barely keep it down. Mind you, I can eat/drink almost anything! The smell, plus the salty, watered-down gravy taste over-flowing with foam was too much. I will try spooning in some cocoa mix and using milk next time. If you can't drink milk and beef protein is your only option, I suggest trying the chocolate version. I seriously dread having to drink the other 99 servings left in my 5.5 lb bag. But I'll do it, for the GAINZ!
Goes Well With:
Any liquid that could mask or overpower the salty, gravy taste of "unflavored".

Great for the Lactose Intolerant, But Consider a Few Things Before Buying...

I have tried all sorts of MyProtein over the years such as typical whey, isolate, casein, etc. Decided to try beef for the first time recently, it's great if you have a lactose issue but consider a few things before buying. 1. More expensive than Impact Whey (about the same as isolate) 2. Very sticky/gummy texture when mixed unless you use a high powered blender. 3. According to many articles, it's not the highest quality beef source (tendons, other cattle leftovers) 4. Lower Amino Acid amounts and quality compared to Impact/Isolate Whey. Just trying it out but planning to go back to Impact Whey as soon as this one is done. The taste is a bit sweeter than Whey, and has more salt also. Personally, somehow the thought of drinking liquidated beef tissue is kind of strange.

Beef Protein

So I ordered this protein powder along side Calcium Casinate, as they were both recently added to MP. I got hte unflavored version, because the choc one sold in a heartbeat. The unflavored powder literally tastes of beef. Seriously if you just add a little bit of water to this stuff and mix you basically have a high protein gravy. I used the powder while cutting fat, as I wanted the numerous fat-loss benefits that comes with the nonessensial proteins that comes with eatting beef. Worked like a charm. Alot of my muscle has been preserved and I feel i achieved a lower bodyfat due to the nonessensials like carniatine from the beef protein. Definitely A+ for the convenience, as I dont like buying and draining ground beef to stay lean and healthy.
Goes Well With:
A scoop of Whey for post workout. A scoop of Casein before sleep/between meals.
