Many of us would love to eat well, exercise consistently, and be our best selves, but this can become a struggle when working full- time. Luckily, Myprotein ambassador Ben Chidiebele is here with his expert advice.

Ben gives us his two top tips on how to prioritize eating nutritious food and staying active while working a 9-5. Let's see what he has to say.

1. Meal Prep

Prioritizing your health is just as much about what you fuel your body with as how much exercise you did that day. When at the office all day, it can be difficult to have access to nutritious food that will move you closer to your goals.

Ben explains that meal prepping can be a huge help when it comes to making your nutrition goals more manageable during the workday.

Packing your lunch eliminates the need to buy fast food or junk during work breaks and makes it easier to stay on track. Having a structure can make all the difference.

Plus, when you get the munchies at work, it's all too easy to reach for something that isn't great for you. To help you fuel your body with macro-friendly snacks, try packing some of our favourites like Layered Bars and Crispy Wafers.

Ben advises meal prepping at least 3-4 days in advance. This way, you only have to cook twice a week (not to mention that eating food over four days old isn't exactly ideal).

2. Carry Gym Supplies + Make a Plan

Once you have your food figured out, it's time to make an effort to get that daily exercise in. Ben's second tip? Carry your gym supplies with you and create a plan for your training session.

Carrying your supplies with you allows you to go to the gym without having to stop at home first. Ben explains that as a homebody, he knows once he's home, he's not leaving.

Having a gym bag always on you will help motivate you to stop by and get a workout in before you head home, or whenever you have some spare time.

Ben also advises planning your workout session in advance so you don’t have to waste hours thinking about what you should be doing once you're already there.

Like meal prepping, preparing your gym routine in advance allows you to turn your brain off and just enjoy what you're doing. This is especially helpful if you're pressed for time. Ben reminds us that a 30-minute workout is better than nothing.

Take Home Message

While cutting out time to focus on your meals or exercise during a busy day can be overwhelming, there are ways to make it a no-brainer. Follow these tips to smash your nutrition and fitness goals any day of the week, and keep going after that work-life balance. You got this.
