Low glycemic index foods allow for a tapered release of glucose into the blood stream. This means you'll be able to keep your blood sugar levels steady and won't have cravings for unhealthy snacks.

Oats are also rich in soluble fiber, a complex carbohydrate known for its ability to keep you filled up for longer. Research has been associating dietary fiber intake with reduced risk of colorectal cancer (*1) and improved intestinal transit (*2). Additionally, a high dietary fiber intake can lower LDL (known as the 'bad cholesterol') and improve lipid profile (*3)
