Your new favourite fake-out — all you need is a pan and a spare 20 minutes.

Craving something salty but don't want to sacrifice on your gains? Let us introduce you to your new favourite make-at-home meal that'll rival your local Chinese takeout.

With just a pan and less than 20 minutes of your time, you'll have a nutrition-packed meal boasting 41g of protein per serving. Making two servings, it’s perfect for midweek meal prep or sharing with a workout partner.

Makes 2 servings

Ingredients

  • 320 g mini chicken fillets
  • 1 tsp. Chinese five spice
  • 1 tsp. black pepper
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tbsp. corn flour
  • 1 tbsp. sesame oil
  • 1 green bell pepper
  • 1 small sweet red bell pepper (or Chilli pepper if you like heat)
  • 1 red onion

Instructions

1.

Chop the chicken into cubes and add to a bowl with spices and corn flour. Mix well.

2.

In a pan, add the sesame oil. When it’s hot, add the chicken.

3.

Fry for roughly 7 minutes or until cooked through. Be careful not to overcook.

4.

While the chicken is cooking, roughly chop the vegetables. Add them to the pan a few minutes before the chicken is ready to keep them crunchy.

5.

Once your chicken is cooked and your veggies have a little colour, serve and enjoy!
