You won’t be able to stop at just one of these, but that's OK.

In the mood for a savoury snack that’ll hit the spot without taking ages to prepare? We've got you covered with this incredible pastry twist recipe. Super easy to make and loaded with an irresistibly gooey, cheesy center, these bacon bites will satisfy your cravings and keep you coming back for more.

They're an ideal weekend treat to enjoy alongside your favourite movie or game, and great for sharing with friends and family too. Just whip up a batch in under 20 minutes, and you're good to go. We recommend serving with sugar-free BBQ sauce — it's a match made in heaven.

Ingredients

  • 1 sheet puff pastry
  • Spritz low-calorie cooking spray
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 8 bacon strips
  • 1 egg (beaten)
  • 2 tbsp. sesame seeds
  • Good drizzle sugar-free sauce of choice to serve

Instructions

1.

Preheat the oven to 200C⁣/400F.

2.

Spray a baking tray with low-calorie cooking spray and then unroll the pastry sheet onto the tray

3.

Sprinkle a layer of shredded cheddar cheese over the pastry, then arrange the bacon strips on top of the cheese, leaving a small gap of pastry between each one so that they’re not overlapping⁣.

4.

Slice the pastry into strips, in between each bacon strip⁣.

5.

Twist each of the pastry strips evenly, with the bacon and cheese inside. This can be tricky, but they don’t have to be too neat.

6.

Brush any visible pastry on the top with the beaten egg and then sprinkle with sesame seeds.

7.

Bake in the oven for 10-12 minutes until golden brown, then serve and enjoy. They’re great dunked into sugar-free BBQ sauce.
