What Are Turkey Burgers?
Leaner and lighter than your typical beef burger, turkey burgers are typically made from turkey mince. They’re a great barbecue alternative if you’re in the mood for something a little bit different, pairing well with all sorts of different garnishes and condiments.
Instead of going for the classic tomato, lettuce, onion, and burger sauce, you mix it up with some sliced avocado, cucumber, fresh coriander leaves, and mango chutney. Yum.
What Turkey Mince is Best for This Recipe?
It’s your choice what turkey mince you would like to use for these turkey burgers. We use turkey breast mince as it has less fat content than others. But thigh mince or mixed mince would work just as well.
How to Reheat Turkey Burgers
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Place the patties on a baking sheet lined with foil.
- Reheat for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through.
- Assemble your burger, and enjoy.
Variations and Add-Ins
- Change up some of the seasonings by adding cumin, coriander, paprika, or garlic powder.
- Garnish with different sauces — chipotle mayo, sriracha mayo, lime crema, and salsa verde work especially well.
- Throw in some different toppings — avocado, sliced pickled jalapenos, grilled onions, or pico de gallo.
Equipment Needed
The best thing about this recipe is that it’s incredibly easy to follow and requires minimal clean-up. The only two pieces of equipment you need are:
