Worst I've ever tried

Was looking for a plant based protein mix and purchased the "unflavored" pea protein. This is easily the worst tasting mix I've ever tried. Texture doesn't bother me, but this stuff is gross. The "unflavored" mix does have a flavor, and it's bad. I'd suggest you pass on this one.

Great alternative to whey

This is a great alternative to whey if you have any digestion problems or the like. Mixes on the thicker side but I have found this one to be the best in regards to that as I have found most vegan blends to have a real thick consistency. All in all I love it!

Unflavored is great ingredient to own mix/recipe

Unflavored is best to create your own. 1 scoop of 20g protein with a 12-oz can of V-8 veggie juice is a great on-the-go drink/meal replacement. Works quite well with oatmeal, but I recommend adjusting water to compensate; I use 1/2 scoop with one small serving of oatmeal, use extra water or almond milk, and adding frozen blueberries to otherwise unflavored oatmeal works great; I also use my no-sugar sweetener of choice. Can also work as a thickener, and somewhat makes things creamier when added. The powder is very, very fine, so careful handling, but very manageable. Mixing is fine, even with cool temperatures, but fine powder is best using a whisk or shaker. Finished my first 2lb bag, ordering more; this is now a staple for my vegan diet.

I love everything about myprotein especially that I got a 5.5 pound bag for 30 bucks. Don’t get me wrong about myprotien, I just think this pea protein is something to stay away from. It was terribly air filled if mixed in a blender; when shaken it was chunky. I’m sure I could’ve stomached the taste better if the texture was on point, unfortunately it just never was.

The Worst Tasting Thing I Have Ever Consumed

1
Overall:
Mixability:
Taste:
Effectiveness:

I wanna start off by saying I'm a huge fan of the Vanilla Whey Protein Isolate from MyProtein. In terms of flavor, mixability, value, and effectiveness (I can only assume) it's all 5 stars. However, I went vegan about 10 months ago and turned to MyProtein again, expecting to get a great product from them. I went with the Pea Protein Isolate due to it being extremely cheap on a sale, but I disregarded the large (relative to Soy Protein Isolate) proportion of bad reviews talking about the bad taste or chalkiness of this powder. I should not have doubted these people. I did not think the powder smelled good so I initially tried mixing it into a large smoothie of banana, kale, avocado, blueberries, and oat milk (a smoothie I make a lot and enjoy greatly.) I nearly threw up on the first sip. I had the bags of powder sitting in my apartment for a few months before thinking that I really needed to get my money's worth and that I should try and power through this protein powder. I made the mistake of mixing it with water, thinking that I didn't want to waste my non-dairy milk or other food trying to hide the awful flavor of this powder. Not only does this protein powder not blend completely when in a 10-speed blender, but it also does not dissolve well in a shaker cup or when stirred into water. On all three occasions, I encountered large, chalky clumps that stuck to the insides of my mouth and the top of my throat, damning me to extra exposure to concentrated disgustingness. With all three attempts to consume this protein powder, I had the same result. I am by no means a picky eater and I can power through most things even if I don't enjoy the taste, but this powder is the only thing to get me close to throwing up since I drank spoiled milk. If I ever swallowed poison, I could simply mix this protein powder with water and drink that, and anything I'd ingested in the last 9 years would probably come up. I've lowkey been traumatized and I'm scared to try other vegan protein powders, pea protein or otherwise.

I really like this in my morning smoothies, I am PLEASED so far (have tried about 1.5lbs of it so far). This does the trick and is a good price. Probably one of the better protein powder options at MP. Comparing MP Pea powder + Cocoa Powder + Stevia + Water to another brand's Cocoa + Pea powder + Water, this product seems less smooth and not as easily mixable, few stars knocked for consistency / ease of use.
